You know the Animals, but I bet you don't know the man behind the animal minds, training, and action. It's the end of an era, working with live Exotic animals in movies, TV, and live shows. However, everyone wants to know about that time, because it was so unique, exciting, and endearing. I'm Monty Cox, a veteran in that entertainment world. My work is internationally known, award-winning, and I am that Exotic Animal Trainer, 2nd Unit director, Stunt Coordinator & Stuntman. The variety of animals I have been blessed to work with, including domestics, has been such a rewarding and challenging journey at the same time. I owned and trained the only Liberty lion in the world-The Giant and a Hamadryas Baboon-Boon. The action scenes, fights, and stunt attacks include: Apocolypse Now; Gambler 2; Bird on a Wire; Gentle Ben; Daktari; Cowboy in Africa; Disney's Napoleon & Samantha. Included are also live shows, Siegfried & Roy stage act in Las Vegas & their life story in IMAX, San Diego's live Tiger show. I owned/trained the EXXON tigers, creating the commercial branding for the company. Other memorable animal commercials include Kal-Kan, Subway, Lincoln-Mercury. Mike Tyson's lion and tiger-yep, I trained them. Are you a fan of 'Star Wars?' Chewbacca's voice is my bear, Pooh. I love sharing these experiences, minds of the animals, and this time with all.
