Mitch Slater is a financial services veteran, marketing leader, speaker, podcast host, and now author who has spent nearly four decades building businesses—and relationships—around one core belief: people do business with people they know, like, and trust.

After 35 years as a financial advisor and sales leader, Mitch shifted his focus to helping financial professionals become better communicators, build their personal brands, and, as he likes to say, “Stop Being Invisible.” Today, he works with advisors across the country on storytelling, video, podcasting, social media, and the power of being authentically known.

Before entering financial services, Mitch worked in radio and television, including as a producer for Larry King, experiences that helped shape his lifelong fascination with communication and storytelling.

His chapter in Decisions, Courage, and Action explores lessons learned from decades of selling, advising, listening, and building relationships—including why earning trust matters far more than delivering the perfect pitch.

Mitch lives in New Jersey with his wife, Leslie. He is a proud father, lifelong New York sports fan, and unapologetic Bruce Springsteen obsessive who believes some of the best opportunities in life begin with a simple idea: you never know.
