Mike Hibbert is a lifelong gamer, fantasy writer, and the author of The Warlock at Ridge Valley — a contemporary-fantasy crossover exploring grief, friendship, and the power of storytelling through tabletop roleplaying. In August 2025, The Warlock at Ridge Valley was longlisted for the prestigious Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition, a nationwide award celebrating standout new talent in children’s fiction. The book is the first in a four-part series set between the real world and the fantasy land of Calambria — where characters and players alike face monsters, magic, and their inner demons. Mike lives in the UK and spends his spare time rolling D20s, plotting epic campaigns, and writing stories that bring emotion and adventure to the page.
