Mike Cromwell is an award-winning author and distinguished commercial contractor based in Louisville, Kentucky. Named Author of the Year 2025 and Rising Author of the Year 2025, Mike has earned national recognition for transforming personal tragedy into purpose-driven storytelling that inspires readers and advocates for real change. With more than three decades of excellence in the construction industry, Mike built his career from the ground up, first remodeling homes, then building them, and eventually becoming a respected commercial contractor beginning in 1992. His relentless work ethic, integrity, and dedication enabled him to create a stable and meaningful life for his family, the foundation upon which everything he does is built. Louisville has always been at the center of Mike’s world. He proudly calls it home and credits the city for shaping him both personally and professionally. A devoted father and grandfather, Mike treasures his daughters Tiffany and Cristy, and his grandchildren, Kyler and Allison. His bond with Cristy, his youngest and lovingly nicknamed “daddy’s girl,” remains one of the greatest joys of his life. Mike’s journey has also been shaped by profound loss. In 1998, his son, Shaun Michael Cromwell, passed away unexpectedly from bacterial meningitis. This tragedy left an irreplaceable mark, but hope and light returned with Cristy’s birth that same year. The strength forged in those moments would later guide him during yet another difficult chapter, supporting his mother, Goldie, through complex challenges while she resided in assisted living during 2022–2023. Those events became the catalyst for Mike’s writing. His book was born from a deeply personal need for truth, healing, and justice. Through his work, Mike sheds light on the failures within the justice and care systems, turning his pain into purpose with the hope of sparking meaningful change.
