Dr Michelle Wong is the science communicator and chemist behind Lab Muffin Beauty Science, where she explains the science behind beauty, and helps consumers make better decisions about their products. Founded in 2011, she now has over a million followers across Instagram, YouTube and TikTok (@LabMuffinBeautyScience).
She is also a product development and scicomm consultant, working with many well-known consumer brands and speaking at Google News Initiative’s APAC Trusted Media Summit. She’s been featured in publications including Wired, The New York Times, Elle, The Atlantic, Chemistry & Engineering News, and Cosmetics & Toiletries. She has co-hosted online cosmetic science conferences, and founded the Beauty SciComm initiative. She has an eBook, The Lab Muffin Guide to Basic Skincare, and hosted Adore Beauty’s Skincare School podcast.
She holds a bachelor of advanced science (Class I honours with university medal), PhD in chemistry (medicinal and supramolecular), and diploma of cosmetic formulation.
