I'm just an economist who discovered that book publishers pay me to publish my work rather than scientific journals charging both me and you money. The instant I can pay my mortgage with "prestige", then I'll reconsider. Until then, my books fall into 2 categories: Books about amazing, cutting-edge research that will change the world (unfortunately probably long after I'm dead); and books that publishers think will sell lots of copies but need an expert to write (Thank You Corporate Finance for Dummies, for buying my new kayak!). Otherwise, I'm an economic consultant and graduate professor, so I know what I write about works because I've not only seen it with my own eyes (along with a long line of happy customers) but it's supported by advanced theory. I hope one day my books will end warfare, advance neurological/behavioral analytics, and stimulate self-perpetuating progress for everyone. In the meantime I've got bills to pay, so buying my books and leaving good reviews are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
