Michael McMenamin, Kathleen McMenamin, Patrick McMenamin Michael McMenamin is the co-author with his son Patrick McMenamin of the first five award winning 1930s-era historical novels featuring Winston Churchill and his fictional Scottish goddaughter, the adventure-seeking Hearst photojournalist Mattie McGary. He is the co-author with his daughter Kathleen McMenamin of the sixth through ninth Mattie + Winston novels. Their tenth Mattie + Winston historical adventure, The Wilson Duplicity, will be published in Fall 2025. The first three novels in the series—The DeValera Deception, The Parsifal Pursuit and The Gemini Agenda received a total of 15 literary awards. Michael is the author of the critically acclaimed Becoming Winston Churchill, The Untold Story of Young Winston and His American Mentor [Hardcover, 2007; Paperback, 2009; Rev.& Exp. Paperback, 2023]. A full-time writer, he is a contributing editor for Finest Hour, the journal of the International Churchill Society and for the libertarian magazine Reason. A former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent, he was a first amendment & media defense lawyer for over thirty years. He is a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, the OSS Society and the International Thriller Writers. Kathleen is an honors graduate of Sarah Lawrence College with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from New York University. She is the co-author with her sister Kelly of Organize Your Way: Simple Strategies for Every Personality [Sterling, 2017] and a Contributing Writer for the e-magazine FreshWater Cleveland. Prior to starting a family, she was Senior Advertising and Promotion Coordinator at Bedford/St. Martin’s. Patrick is the Executive Producer of The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC. An award-winning journalist, he previously has produced stories for ABC News, Fox News and Huff Post. He is a Phi Beta Kappa cum laude graduate of the University of Rochester with Departmental Honors in 20th Century European History and Film Studies.
