Michael Klauke is a retired engineer and Plant Manager. Originally from Canada he now lives in the United States, in the woods of Kentucky with his wife Wendy and his dog Patty. He writes the way he lived, straight, unpolished, and without much patience for pretending things were easier than they were. His work is shaped by years spent in industrial plants, long shifts, hard decisions, and the kind of responsibility that doesn’t clock out at the end of the day.
He didn’t come up through writing programs or quiet offices and his words are not eloquent or refined. He came up through noise, pressure, and learning things the hard way. That experience shows up on the page in a voice that’s direct, reflective, and often laced with dry humor. He’s more interested in telling the truth than dressing it up.
His writing focuses on the moments that pressure you, the ones that test you, change you, or quietly define who you become over time. Work, family, mistakes, small wins, and everything in between.
Now retired, Michael spends his time writing, traveling by RV, and chasing a decent round of golf. He’s still paying attention. Still thinking things through. Still telling the story the way he sees it.
