Michael Cory Davis is an award-winning filmmaker, actor, and social impact storyteller. With a career spanning over two decades in television and film, Michael is known for blending entertainment with purpose. As the writer and creator of Trapped: City of Angels, he draws from years of work addressing human trafficking and the complexities of power, trauma, and survival. Michael’s advocacy began with his acclaimed film Svetlana’s Journey, based on the true story of a trafficked girl, which helped spark national policy change in Bulgaria. He went on to create Cargo: Innocence Lost, a documentary on sex trafficking in the U.S., and launched the “I Stop Traffic” campaign — partnering with organizations like the FBI, Homeland Security, and the United Nations to raise awareness around the globe. As founder of Journey Film Group and Artists United for Social Justice, Michael has produced content for Lionsgate, AMC, the City of Los Angeles, and others. His acting credits include The Lincoln Lawyer, The Upshaws, Criminal Minds, and For Colored Girls. With Trapped, Davis returns to fiction to expose a raw truth — one that mirrors the lives of many — through the lens of one unforgettable woman’s story.
