Max Telford is the Jodrell Professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy at University College London. He studied in Oxford, Paris, the Natural History Museum in London and Cambridge before joining UCL in 2003. He works as an evolutionary biologist using trees of relationships to piece together the story of early evolution of the animal kingdom. His first book "The Tree of Life" is published 24th April 2005 (UK) and 11th November 2025 (USA). It is published in Spanish translation on 15th October 2025.
