Mattie Richardson currently has seven books published to her name. She specializes in historical fiction and the books she is most well-known for are about horses telling the stories--from "Dusty's Trail" where a horse tells the story of the Pony Express to "Day and Night" where two horses take turns narrating the days of of the early Civil War. "Blackberry Blossom" is Mattie Richardson's first story for young adults and adults, in which a young girl named Molly runs away during the Great Depression era and attempts to carve out a living for herself by playing the fiddle. When Mattie is not writing she enjoys playing the fiddle and guitar, riding and training horses, studying American history, exploring abandoned houses, traveling, and spending time with her seven younger siblings. She lives in a small town in North Dakota and continues to write while working on the side. Her dream is to someday become a full-time author and adventurer.
