About the Author: Martin CJ Mongiello served in the US Navy with a 30-year retired certificate on three continents where he held a Top Secret clearance, Yankee White, SSBI, Category II, and higher. He holds the rare leadership distinction of Surface Warfare and Submarine Warfare Qualified Specialist pins, served with the Seabees, Blue Angels security, and Marine Corps FAST Company. Marti graduated from the US Department of Defense Police Academy first in his class and first in his class at the Starkey International Academy of Household Management. He served in the White House as a Chef and at the Camp David Resort and Conference Center (Executive Chef and GM) alongside the United States Secret Service, where he was awarded a Presidential Service Badge with serial number 14592, and two others. Later he served heads of state in Asia and Arabia, including King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, and Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of the Royal Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Prime Minister Hashimoto of Japan. In Brussels, Belgium, he excelled for numerous state Diplomats of NATO, including Lord Robertson. He has been an Estate and Resort Manager on three continents up to 1500 room properties like the Bayshore's Resort in Pensacola, Florida, as well as a General Manager for Marriott & Wyndham. He was knighted in Brussels, Belgium in 2001, and wears the Iraq Medal. In 2005, the State of New Jersey awarded him the Distinguished Service Medal. He has continued to serve resorts, clubs, shops, restaurants, hotels, and private estates around the world to help them create happiness and tranquility with exceptional financial results achieving a 9.8 out of 10 for the 2019 World Hotel Awards with Booking.com, at his team's The Inn of the Patriots. His approaches to teamwork (and success) are with a Doctor Steven Covey, Doctor Deming, Doctor Dean Ornish, Ken Blanchard, Jeffrey Fox, and Doctor Albert Ellis system of coaching. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS degree in Culinary Management at the International Culinary Schools of the Art Institute, where he was awarded a Socrates Grant, Perfect Attendance Award, and maintained a 3.98 GPA. He holds an MBA degree from Almeda University, is a Master Certified Food Executive (MCFE), Licensed Executive Chef (LEC), former Certified Executive Chef (CEC), Certified Household Manager (CHM) and Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) and is a Senior Board Member of Laurel Placement as well as a Trustee of IAHHRM. He presently is the Senior Curator of the Presidential Culinary Museum and US Presidential Service center, owns The Inn of the Patriots, and is Chair of the Food and Fun Culinary Institute. The Inn was ranked Most Patriotic in the USA by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), #1 to visit for History in the World, and Best of the South by the Judges and voters at BedandBreakfast.com. In 2012, the inn attained a Zagat score of 27 out of 30 and a TripAdvisor 4.5 stars Award of Excellence. In 2016, 2017, and 2018 - LUX Magazine of London awarded it The Best in NC as well as appearing five times as a prize on Wheel of Fortune. Marti has most recently appeared in 160+ different newspapers, including The New Yorker, Washington Post, London Times, The Australian, and The Times of India. Featured on PBS and CNN International to 2.6 billion, he has later appeared on CBS, ABC, NBC, Vitaya, NHK Tokyo, and FOX Television. He continues to design, build, and streamline the best resorts and homes - worldwide. His approaches to excellence focus on a love of history, and most of his work is historical in fashion.
