Márquez Price is a rising Essayist, Poet, and Author who is passionate about making an impact on others by crafting content that touches issues of the collective human fabric. His debut poetry book, My Train Is on Schedule, became a bestseller in August of 2021 and was followed by his second poetry collection, From the Observer to the Observed, which also became a bestseller. Márquez is a critical thinker and open-minded author who does not shy away from any topic. Drawing from his life story, he incorporates various themes that cover the existential spectrum, as reflected in his nationally published essays. He writes from a cultural perspective of enriched heritage, history, and pride; translating those roots into conveyable concepts that are universally relatable. His third poetry project, Return of the Observer, continues his signature blend of introspection, resilience, and social insight. He also made waves with The Algorithm of a Culture, a daring and genre-defying book released independently, intentionally kept off all major distribution platforms to preserve its raw truth. The book explores how systems, symbols, and language shape the Black experience and was praised for its uncompromising stance and innovative format. Most recently, Márquez released The Backcourt, a powerful sports biography chronicling the intertwined lives of two high school basketball legends as they navigate glory, loss, and legacy across decades. The story is currently being adapted into a feature-length documentary, which Márquez is directing and writing. He is also executive producing the official soundtrack, a cinematic blend of spoken word, hip-hop, archival commentary, and narrative storytelling that brings The Backcourt to life in multidimensional form. He is committed to creating work that transcends genre, ignites reflection, and speaks to the hearts of readers from all walks of life.
