Mark Farnham serves as Director of the Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics program at Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, PA. He has been engaging unbelievers with the gospel using apologetics and teaching apologetics in churches for twenty years. He is also the founder and director of Apologetics for the Church, a local church training ministry equipping ordinary Christians to share and defend their faith effectively. He earned his PhD in Apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He is the author of Every Believer Confident: Apologetics for the Ordinary Christian (P&R, 2025) and coauthor of Talking About Ethics: A Conversational Approach to Moral Dilemmas (Kregel, 2021) and Talking About Worldviews: A Conversational Introduction to Thinking Philosophically (Kregel, 2026). Mark grew up in western Connecticut, the son of a stonemason. His parents were not Christians until his mom was led to faith in Christ by a friend when he was seven years old. He became a Christian at the age of nine and was baptized in the creek behind his country church. Until he learned apologetics in his late 30s he was a frustrated evangelist, having tried hard to witness to lost people from the age of twelve. He served as pastor of a struggling urban church in New London, CT for seven years before transitioning to higher education in 2002. Mark met his wife in high school, and they have three married children and nine grandchildren. He grew up playing basketball, skiing in Vermont, and backpacking in New Hampshire for fun, and now finds his greatest enjoyment in saltwater fishing and playing with his grandkids. He is a kidney transplant recipient (2010) and a cancer survivor (2020).
