### Introduction Wellbeing is often spoken about as a concept—something organizations discuss in strategy meetings or include in policy documents. But in reality, wellbeing is deeply personal. It is about how we live, how we work, how we cope with challenges, and how we find the strength to keep moving forward when life takes unexpected turns. For more than two decades, I have worked at the forefront of corporate health and wellbeing, helping organizations understand that their greatest asset is their people. Through my work with governments, public services, and major businesses, I have advised on strategies designed to improve health, resilience, and performance in the workplace. I have been privileged to contribute to national conversations on occupational health and wellbeing, including serving on the UK Government’s strategy group in this area. Through my company, Wellbeing4business Ltd, I have supported NHS Trusts, councils, and leading organizations such as M&S, E.ON and the DVLA. My focus has always been the same: helping organizations create environments where people can thrive—physically, mentally, and emotionally. But my journey into wellbeing is not only professional. Fourteen years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Like many life-changing moments, that diagnosis forced me to see wellbeing from a completely different perspective. It was no longer just about policy, programs, or workplace strategy—it was about resilience, adaptation, and learning how to live well despite adversity. Living with Parkinson’s has taught me lessons no textbook ever could. It has deepened my understanding of the powerful connection between mind, body, and emotional strength. It has also reinforced something I have always believed: wellbeing is not simply about avoiding illness—it is about building the capacity to live fully, even when life becomes difficult. My first book, *Shaken*, shared my personal journey with Parkinson’s and explored what resilience truly means when faced with a progressive condition. Since then, I have continued writing and developing resources to support others living with Parkinson’s—people I proudly call “PD Warriors”—to help improve their quality of life and sense of control. Across everything I do, one belief remains constant: true excellence in both business and life comes when people are engaged, resilient, energized, and supported to be at their best—both mentally and physically. My hope is simple: that the ideas in these pages help you not just cope with life’s challenges—but thrive in spite of them.
