Marce Mandel is a therapist and guide. At the age of 19, he moved to the United States to study advertising photography, embarking on a career in fashion and commercial imagery that spanned over two decades. Though successful, the industry eventually left him feeling depleted and questioning the more profound impact of his work. Seeking greater meaning, Marce relocated to Barcelona and entered a transformative chapter of personal growth. He immersed himself in Native American spiritual traditions and participated in the Vision Quest ceremony, a solitary retreat into nature marked by fasting and prayer. These powerful experiences, sustained over four years, ultimately illuminated his true calling: to support others on their paths of healing and self-discovery. Marce went on to study Gestalt Therapy at the Gestalt Institute of Barcelona, where he has spent more than a decade accompanying individuals, couples, and adolescents through their therapeutic processes. His commitment to social justice also led him to volunteer for two years as a therapist with an NGO supporting immigrants facing social exclusion. Through his therapeutic work, he observed that issues around sexuality often emerged as central themes. This insight led him to pursue a postgraduate degree in Sexuality in Therapy. However, the academic route surfaced a more profound realization—that despite his knowledge, he was not as attuned to his own body as he had believed. Driven by this awareness, Marce undertook training in somatic sexuality, a journey that profoundly transformed both his personal life and professional practice. Today, he integrates somatic sexual therapy with the foundational principles of Gestalt therapy: presence, responsibility, and living fully in the here and now. He currently divides his time between therapy sessions and writing books, and also teaches a successful online course on Somatic Sexuality. Marce is devoted to supporting courageous individuals in rediscovering, validating, and celebrating their sexual selves as well as their inner power. He believes that reconnecting with our sexuality and pleasure is not only vital for individual healing but also for the collective evolution of our society. When people embrace their sexuality with awareness and responsibility, the world becomes a more compassionate and connected place.
