Manuel Vergara is a Colombian physician. After obtaining his medical degree from the Javeriana University in 1988, He worked as an Emergency Room doctor at the Colombian Red Cross for five years before relocating to the US in 1993. He specialized in Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, served as Chief resident during his last year. He then moved to New Orleans for subspecialization in Neuromuscular Diseases. He is currently in a group private practice in Princeton, NJ. He has been drawn to the deep questions regarding life, purpose, universe and life origin, consciousness, and our material and spiritual nature. He considers himself an objective thinker and maintains a sense of wonder and marvel at nature, the cosmos, the intricate and complex and wonderful mechanisms in biology from the cell up, and enjoy reading about the great scientific minds through history. In No Greater Faith than that of Science, He wanted to share some of his personal reflections about the basic questions of life and our existence with the reader. ​
