Malcolm Turner is an award-winning author and dramatist whose work explores remarkable lives, technological ambition and the personalities behind defining moments in modern history.
His acclaimed biography of the pioneering yachtsman and designer Uffa Fox, UFFA: Yachting’s Eccentric Genius, was a winner at the 2024 Isle of Wight Book Awards. His stage adaptation, UFFA, played to full houses at Trinity Theatre in Cowes in 2024 before transferring to the Hen & Chickens Theatre in London.
His previous books include The Honourable Member (Blueline, 2017), BOAC and the Golden Age of Flying (Burnt Ash, 2019), Britain’s Airline Entrepreneurs (Burnt Ash, 2020), Ari, Jackie & Maria (SunRise, 2022) and UFFA: Yachting’s Eccentric Genius (SunRise, 2023). His writing combines detailed historical research with a strong interest in the complex, driven and often flawed individuals who shape events.
He lives on the English coast with his wife, Sue, and their elderly Yorkshire Terrier, Toby.
