Malcolm Brabant is a versatile writer and journalist who refuses to be pigeon-holed. His latest work, Dogsplaining is a comic novel about obesity and marital strife, narrated by a dog. It's not the obvious follow up to his previous book, the international best selling Daughter of Auschwitz. co-authored 'Daughter with Tova Friedman, one of the youngest survivors of the Nazi death camp. The book went straight to number 2 in the New York Times bestseller list, was number one in Canada and New Zealand, number three in the Sunday Times list, and is being translated into 18 languages including Ukrainian, Russian, German, Polish, Hebrew and Chinese. The screen rights have been optioned by Sir Ben Kingsley's production house. Since 2015, he has worked as a one man band special correspondent in Europe for America's PBS Newshour programme, winning two Peabodys and a duPont award. Previously he was a foreign correspondent for the BBC and has reported from over 80 countries. He is best known in Britain for his radio reportage from Sarajevo, and in the US for his films about refugees. Brabant is married to Trine Villemann, a best selling Danish author and journalist. They met in besieged Sarajevo in 1995. Their son Lukas is a budding music producer. They live in Sussex, England with Loki, the golden retriever, who's the inspiration for Dogsplaining.
