Maggie Cowan has lived all her life in the city, but grew up in the country. Ever since winning a writing prize in Grade four, she has been storytelling, studying languages and literature knowing that it is through words that we learn to deal with life's choices. Maggie's stories entertained her three sons, educated high school students, and informed restaurant visitors with over 3,000 mini restaurant reviews in her annual 'Patrons Pick' restaurant guide. She wrote ’The House That Jam Built’ chronicling the history of eight generations of Smiths who built the E.D. Smith company. Revelling in controversial issues she presents ethical dilemmas for readers to sort out for themselves and ask "what would they have done?" Her latest novel 'Unsaid' is a perfect vehicle for this, to pose difficult questions that promote serious debate to help us learn how to manage in the midst of life's absurdities. Family, tennis, bridge and singing keep her busy when she is not writing. Maggie lives in Collingwood Ontario with her husband John and dog Max.
