The one thing I crave most in life is freedom. Unfortunately, as the crown princess of all supernaturals, I have responsibilities. Responsibilities that I don’t want. When given the opportunity to be free for a couple of years, I embrace it.

I’m being followed. I’ve spent a year as a detective, savoring my freedom while a powerful dragon follows me. As they say, ignorance is bliss, so I’m ignoring him. I don’t want to face the consequences if I acknowledge the situation.

Something’s not right. My brother is broody, his match isn’t acting crazy, Quin is missing, and the dragons are moping. On top of that, the shifter community is leaderless, the witches are fragmented, and the hybrids are about to be attacked.

My protective instincts irritate me sometimes. I blame my vampire side because I’ve never witnessed mages who would kill for those they love. I won’t hesitate, especially when my adopted family or one of my rescues is in danger.
