Who would choose a ministry based on grief and loss? Probably no one intentionally! However, after the death of her husband of 31 years in October 2017, Lynne Hoeksema started her “Be a Blessing to Your Grieving Friend” ministry. In her book, "Cultivating Compassion - Practical Advice as You Walk a Friend through a Season of Loss," Lynne provides the tools you'll need in your compassion arsenal to be the kind of friend we all long to be. In her second book, "The Honest Griever - Truths God Teaches on the Journey from Pain to Purpose," she takes a very personal look at the reality of deep grief, coupled with the equally true reality of God's presence and strength during the darkest days. Allowing yourself to fully grieve, while acknowledging God's work through your pain, is a powerful combination. In “God, I Hate This…But I Trust You,” Lynne shares 52 devotionals that look at how we can live life in this fallen world victoriously. Her latest book, “Maisy, Mimi & Me” is a sweet reminder of how God can teach us powerful lessons through the pets and other animals we hold dear. Lynne makes her home in Iowa, living with her Boston/Frenchie mixes, Maisy and Mimi.
