“Home isn’t where you come from—it’s where someone believes in you.”
My name is Lulu Clearwater, and I live down the road from 788 Lulu Lane. That’s where Mrs. Willow lives with the ten extraordinary children she’s adopted—each one with a story (and a secret) of their own.
I often stop by to visit. Sometimes, I help them gather blueberries or chase off the wild turkeys that sneak into the garden. And every so often, I’m invited to join them on their incredible adventures, especially when they step into new worlds.
In these books, I share their stories with readers who, like me, believe in courage, kindness, and a little bit of magic.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy stargazing, daydreaming, and finding new ways to spend time with my beloved children on Lulu Lane.
I hope these stories help young readers discover that even if life feels uncertain, there’s always a place for them—a place where they belong. I hope these tales inspire young readers to believe in their inner strength, treasure true friendships, and know that even if they don’t have a family yet, they can build one—one made of trust, love, and the people who believe in them.
Author Q&A
• Q: Where do your story ideas come from?
From the children of 788 Lulu Lane, of course! I just try to keep up with them. Sometimes I write in the garden while they chase turkeys or play time-travel tag. Other times, I jot down their stories after we return from a magical land or solve a mystery involving invisible footprints and singing statues.
• Q: Are the children in your stories based on real people?
That’s a tricky question. Let’s just say that the world is full of children with incredible gifts—some are just better at hiding them than others.
• Q: Do you believe in magic?
I believe in the kind of magic that helps us become braver, kinder, and more ourselves. Whether it comes from time travel, invisible friends, or just a well-timed hug—I say yes, absolutely.
• Q: What advice would you give to young readers?
You are not alone. The world is full of hidden doors, unexpected friends, and second chances. Don’t be afraid to dream big—and to care even bigger.
