Loren Stephens is founder and president of Write Wisdom and Bright Star Memoirs, ghostwriters and book coaches who have helped authors complete over 40 books in various genres. Loren’s debut historical novel, All Sorrows Can Be Borne, was originally published in 2021 by Rarebird, and in paperback in 2023. Live in Five: My Extraordinary Life in Television, by legendary producer/director Jeff Margolis with Loren Stephens was published on February 13, 2024 by Post Hill Press. Paris Nights: My Year at the Moulin Rouge, by Cliff Simon with Loren Stephens was named by Kirkus as one of the top titles issued by an independent press. Twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize for the best American short story, Loren’s personal essays and short stories have been published in numerous literary journals and newspapers including the Los Angeles Times; the Chicago Tribune; Jewish Women’s Literary Annual; MacGuffin; The Hudson Group of Newspapers; The Montreal Review; Summerset Review; the anthology, Kicking In the Wall edited by Barbara Abercrombie; and most recently in the Umbrella Factory; and the Pennsylvania Literary Journal. A New York native, Loren’s love for the theater, film and writing led her to Los Angeles. As an executive producer, she received an Emmy nomination for the PBS documentary, Legacy of the Hollywood Blacklist, narrated by Burt Lancaster. Other credits include the bilingual documentary, Los Pastores: The Shepherd’s Play, produced for the Latino Consortium of PBS at KCET; and the docudrama Sojourner Truth: Ain’t I a Woman? starring Julie Harris and Roscoe Lee Browne. A graduate of Cornell University she earned degrees in English Literature and Government, and a masters degree from the School of International Affairs and Public Policy at Columbia University. Loren is a member of Greenlight Women, a dynamic and diverse community of women over forty in media and entertainment. She serves as a National Commissioner of the Anti-Defamation League.
