Collins is a serial entrepreneur having spent most of the last 40 years in Silicon Valley. He has held senior positions in companies including VP and Founder / CEO. Through his professional journey he has traveled the world, having flown over 3 million miles. This has opened his views of the world and contributed to a wealth of knowledge. Recently two things have peaked his interest. Firstly Generative AI (ChatGPT 4 / Bard) which has given him incredible power and knowledge to significantly leverage his inherent capabilities. Secondly, the war with Russia and Ukraine has moved him to express to the world the horrors Ukraine has been subject to by Russia. Collins’ Mother’s family is from Galacia, what was then the Western part of Ukraine. In 1931 they literally walked from Ukraine to Viena, Austria where they were given a land grant by the Canadian government. However near and deep in Collins’ heart was the terrible tragedy called “The Holodomor” beginning in 1932 through 1933 wherein up to 7 million Ukrainians died of starvation at the hands of the egregious Russian leader Joseph Stalin. This up until now a relatively “hidden atrocity” which motivated Collins to write the book “Harvest of Despair: Unearthing the Ukrainian Holodomr”. Collins seeks to bring this atrocity to light and to further understand the horrors Ukraine has suffered under Russian rule.
