Lillie Jay Goun is an indie author and illustrator. She graduated from university as an interior designer. Her passion for art pushed her to become an art teacher. As a former elementary, middle and high school art teacher she gained the knowledge of art therapy and how art is an outlet that impacts young hearts. Setting the knowledge into the children’s book series, YOU GOTTA LOVE STELLA. A mother of two beautiful girls who inspired her to write about coming of age girl’s topics. Writing about emotional intelligence for girls to flourish through self awareness, respect, bravery and most importantly values, has been a grace for her. Conversations that came up by reading girls ages four to twelve: * validation * different preferences and choices * respecting their body and those around them (no body shaming) * permission to say NO * kindness * helping one another * bullying * leaders guide through example * challenges * reasons why being nice(it’s not about the other person that hurt you, it’s about keeping our heart as pure as possible. About being weightless through the years. About having peace at heart and soul.)  Creating Stella Rockheart was an amazing experience for her, the idea came by reading her older daughter’s school stories. The summer of 2017, together they started drafting the characters. Soon enough they had the whole Stella Rockheart’s book friends and the color concept. The embodied emotion of free spirit + bravery + kindness made the character UNIQUE.  A bold inspiration came rushing to produce more of those little gems. It has always been about the potential of Stella reaching to empower girls, giving them tools for later. Teenagers arrive at this age with such input to soon realize life is more than fun and inner circles. “I have a mission- to attempt giving more understanding on every front. Girls CAN have promising futures, but first we need to power them up with social/emotional intelligence.” The brand has evolved from a simple idea to a whole bundle of dreams.
