Leaford L. Blevins Jr. is an architect, author, and family historian whose work spans more than five decades of professional practice, historical research, and storytelling. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma he has served in roles ranging from military architect and planner to chief architect, principal architect, educator, and entrepreneur, contributing to projects across the United States and internationally. As a family historian and member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Blevins is the author of The Yowani Choctaw Saga, a multigenerational history tracing the journey of his family across more than 150 years of Choctaw experience, from removal and settlement to the present day. His architectural writings include The Addenda: Architecture Without a Scar, a series examining the transformation of the architectural profession over a fifty-year career and exploring the relationship between design, stewardship, public service, and professional responsibility. Writing under the pen name D. Champfleur, he is also the creator of the Lighthorse Mysteries, a series of Native American-centered suspense novels that explore identity, historical continuity, justice, and the enduring influence of the past on the present. Today, Blevins continues to write from Texas, preserving stories of family, place, architecture, and the people who shape them.
