Larkin McPhee is a Peabody and Emmy Award–winning documentary filmmaker and the author of "I’ll See You in My Dreams: A Sister’s Memoir."

For more than thirty years, McPhee has told intimate stories about people confronting some of life's most profound challenges. In her debut memoir, she turns that storytelling lens on her own family and her extraordinary relationship with her younger brother, Charles McPhee, known to radio listeners across the country as "The Dream Doctor."

Drawing on remembered moments, dreams, emails, and Charles's radio broadcasts, "I'll See You In My Dreams" follows the siblings' lifelong bond and the devastating turn that came when Charles was diagnosed with ALS at age 44. It is a story of loss, but also of love, humor, creativity, resilience, and the mysterious ways dreams can help us understand our lives.

McPhee's acclaimed documentaries have explored subjects ranging from mental health and eating disorders to the cosmos and the environment. Her work has been recognized with Peabody and Emmy Awards and praised for bringing humanity and clarity to complex subjects.

With "I'll See You In My Dreams," McPhee brings that same curiosity and compassion to the most personal story she has ever told —an exploration of sibling love, grief, and the possibility of finding beauty and meaning after loss.

McPhee lives in Minnesota with her husband and is the mother of three children. "I’ll See You in My Dreams "is her debut memoir.
