Kevin Beaver is an independent information consultant, professional speaker, and writer with 37+ years in IT, 31 focused on security. He founded Principle Logic in 2001 after serving in IT and security roles across healthcare, finance, e-commerce, education, and consulting. Kevin has appeared on CNN, CBS Radio, and been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur, Fortune Small Business, and more. His work has been referenced by the PCI Security Standards Council. He has written/co-written 12 books, including the best-selling Hacking For Dummies (currently in its 8th edition), and served as technical editor on many others. Kevin has published 37 whitepapers and 1,400+ security articles for outlets like TechTarget, IBM, Rapid7, CSOOnline, and Computerworld. He serves as faculty for the Institute of Applied Network Security, co-founded the Technology Association of Georgia’s Infosec Society, and sits on Kennesaw State University’s Industry Advisory Board. He holds a CISSP and degrees from Southern College of Technology and Georgia Tech.
