Kent Jarnig was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His father was a plumbing and heating contractor. Kent started working for him at 8 years old, sweeping out the shop floor on Saturdays. After graduating from high school, Kent put himself through college at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in advertising. Kent was then drafted into the Vietnam war and served as a Combat Medic, being promoted twice in his one year tour. Upon his discharge, he took his first job as a salesman. Kent listened to audio tapes and read every book he could find on sales. Applying what he learned, he did well and was rapidly promoted into management, first as a Regional Manager and then as the National Sales and Marketing Manager for two mid-sized manufacturers. After corporate life, Kent owned two of his own companies, as a Manufacturer’s Representative and then as a broker for the manufacturing of CDs and DVDs (Kent built this one up from zero to over $1,000,000 a year, just sitting at home and answering the phone – Google AdWords was the key to this success). Kent now works as Chair of a Social Welfare Veterans organization which he founded in December of 2018. Current membership is over 800, and with the pandemic ending, they should comfortably be near 2000 members by the end of 2020.
