Kelly Capriotti Burton finds it easy to write the Surfside Beach series: as a transplant from South Chicago Heights, Illinois, she’s truly found her home on the South Carolina coast. The author of six books, she draws inspiration from big, chaotic families like the one she’s built with her husband, Rod. Together, they have five children and are always finding ways to create community and gather family. Kelly co-owns a publishing company and a local running store; she is, fittingly, always on the run—usually toward the beach, the gym, favorite local cafes and eateries, the sound of ’90s rock, or a specific whimsical cabin in the north Georgia mountains.
