Kathy Eldon is an award-winning filmmaker, author, journalist and founder of Creative Visions, a global hub for creative activism that has impacted over 100 million people through storytelling and media-driven social change. Inspired by her son, Dan Eldon, a Reuters photojournalist killed in Somalia at 22, Kathy turned personal tragedy into a movement, empowering changemakers to use art, media, and storytelling to ignite positive impact. Her foundation has incubated over 400 projects and productions, and Creative Visions is recognized as a United Nations NGO. A prolific storyteller, Kathy has authored 17 books, including "In The Heart of Life", "Angel Catcher" and "Soul Catcher". As a producer, she has brought global issues to the screen through acclaimed films, series and documentaries, including "Dying to Tell the Story", "Extraordinary Moms" (OWN), and "The Journey is the Destination"—a feature film inspired by Dan’s life, now availabe on Amazon. Kathy has been honored with awards, including the Media for Social Impact Award at the United Nations and the George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award, nominated by Nelson Mandela’s grandsons and spotlighted by KTLA’s Remarkable Women 2025.
