Kassia St. Clair is a cultural historian and acclaimed author who specialises in telling illuminating stories about the overlooked and the everyday. She has written about design and culture for The Economist, House & Garden, Washington Post, Wired, TLS, New Statesman, and Elle Decoration. Her first book, The Secret Lives of Colour, was a Sunday Times top-ten bestseller, a Radio 4 Book of the Week, and has been translated into 21 languages. Her second book, The Golden Thread, was a Sunday Times Book of the Year and shortlisted for the Somerset Maugham Award, and her third, Race to the Future, was a Radio 4 Book of the Week. Her latest book, Liberty: Design. Pattern. Colour, was published to mark the 150th birthday of the founding of Liberty. Kassia has spoken at the Hay Festival, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Soho House and the Dallas Art Museum, and for brands including Chanel, Farrow & Ball and Christie’s. She has contributed to NPR, BBC Radio 4, and CNN, and created the 'Color A-Z' exhibit for Color Factory, New York. She lives in London with her family.
