Born in Melbourne, Australia Karin moved to the United States in 1976. She began her creative journey as a Floral Designer under her mother's tutelage, specializing in wedding and custom arrangements. With her introduction to Science Fiction conventions in 2002 Karin started designing costumes for herself. She has won multiple awards including Best Fantasy at DragonCon in 2003 and 2004, Best Journeyman at DragonCon in 2006 and Best in Show at ChattaCon in 2013. Her favorite costume is Best Fantasy 2003 winner The Snow Queen based on a book of the same title by Joan D. Vinge and cover art by Michael Whelan. The costume took 794 hours to complete. In 2019 Karin joined the Corner Scribbler's Writers Group as a beta reader and has been inspired to start writing. The journey continues.
