Kamala Nellen was a professional dancer. After a broken foot ended her performance career, she embarked on an eighteen year immersion under an extraordinary Master of Yoga from India. Studying, practicing, and assimilating this amazing education. she was also fortunate to travel with him and his successor around the world. After leaving the feet of the Master, Kamala continued studying and practicing what she had learned and added Iyengar yoga studies and began teaching and sharing what she had learned. It has now been five decades on this amazing spiritual journey and Kamala continues to share what she has learned through her writing and speaking. She is also a credentialed life coach and is a facilitator of nonviolent communication. It was when Kamala had a yoga studio in 1999, while attending a major league baseball game that she had a vision of using all she knew from the whole of her yoga studies to radically increase performance for these top tier athletes. And she was finding this to be true: A mixed martial artist increased his kick by six inches, a free diver beat the US recored and another the world record. Baseball players increased batting averages and saved flagging careers. A cheerleader overcame fear of falling to get a medal and a swimmer came in third in the nation. An amateur tennis player who was the CEO of a fortune 500 company, increased his game and after working with Kamala, created an aparatus inspired by their sessions that is marketed around the world. Kamala embarked on her business Coaching for Champions in 2009, and created a foundational program for athletes based on the work she was doing with athletes starting in 1999. In 2015 Kamala put together a hands-on book for amateur and professional athletes and high achievers. Working In; the elite athletes guide to working on from the inside was Kamala Nellen's first book, published on Amazon in 2016. The book offers time proven skills with hands-on practice steps that she used with her clients, high school, college, and professional athletes.
