KC Carlton is actually a pen-name because I am the sister of the movie star Jimmy Carlton and if I used my real name you'd know his instantly. I'm British, a wife and mother, and I have an interest in different forms of sexuality that I express through writing. For a long time I accepted what, I think, most people do accept--that we are given a life, that something we think of as Society (which may be the whole world or may just be the neighbours) knows the best way for us to live it and that we should accept that. I had to live fifty years before I gave in to the growing realisation that that was not true--that you can be whatever you want to be, live any life you want to live; all you need is the will and the determination to be true to yourself, come what may. Sex plays a role in everything I write because sex is central to life--if no-one ever had sex, we'd die out in a single generation. The sex I write about can be between women and men, women and women, men and men. I don't see any of those as forbidden. What is forbidden, as far as my books are concerned, is sex with children. I'm not sure I recognise any other rules, but if I think of one I'll come back and update this. My blog is at www.kccarlton.com. It's very new; I'm working on it.
