Writing has always been at the heart of who I am. I spent many years teaching English and many more writing, and somewhere along the way I realised that stories, poetry, music, drama and laughter are all part of the same conversation about what it means to be human.

I am now the author of six published books, writing across different forms and for different audiences, with more stories already taking shape. My work is shaped by a life lived fully and honestly - sometimes joyfully, sometimes chaotically, but always with heart.

Before becoming a published author, I was an international Headteacher, Head of English and educator. I have directed dramas on and off-stage, sung lead vocals in a band, written a musical, worked with children and families, and embraced every wonderfully imperfect chapter in between. Each experience has reinforced something I have always believed: stories matter.

I am Mum to one son, a brilliant wife twice over, and a surviving - and thriving - divorcee twice over too. Brilliance, it seems, does not always equal permanence. Life has given me plenty of material, and I have never been afraid to use it.

I have been a serial dater, an occasional Bridget Jones, and a woman who has worn everything from a perfect ten to a bursting-out-of-the-seams sixteen. My timing has always been either appalling or spectacular, depending entirely on the perspective of the observer.

But perhaps that is the point.

The scenes we act out, the scripts we inherit, the characters we meet and the stories we choose to rewrite all shape who we become.

So I sacked the scriptwriter and appointed myself author instead.

That philosophy sits at the heart of my writing. I am resilient, resourceful and endlessly hopeful. I love fiercely, laugh loudly and believe wholeheartedly in our ability to change the narrative - both on the page and in our own lives.

Above all, I write to connect.

I write about the messiness and magic of being human: humour and heartbreak, love and loss, courage and reinvention, and ordinary people navigating extraordinary moments. Whether I am writing for adults or children, prose or poetry, I want my words to make readers feel something - to laugh, reflect, recognise themselves, or perhaps see the world a little differently.

Six published books in, I still feel the same excitement about a blank page and the possibilities it holds.

There are many more pages to come.

So, as an author, poet and storyteller, I invite you to turn the page with me.

Here’s to changing the script.
