Joshua Davis is a New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and film director. In 2003, Josh covered the Iraq war for Wired Magazine. He has tracked rumors of genetically modified cocaine behind rebel lines in Colombia, investigated the world's largest diamond heist in Antwerp, and hunted the source of a cyberwar in Russia. In 2012, Davis was kidnapped while reporting in Benghazi, Libya. He is also known for documenting John McAfee's descent into madness in the Belizean jungle. In 2005, Random House published Josh's memoir, "The Underdog," which details his journey through some of the world's most outlandish competitions. The Los Angeles Times calls it "laugh-out-loud funny," and Entertainment Weekly declares "the rewarding Underdog proves that Davis is a winner at something." Josh's 2015 book "Spare Parts" was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a film starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Marisa Tomei, and George Lopez. The book was a finalist for the Lukas Book Prize and an Amazon Best Book of the Month. Josh is the co-founder of Epic Magazine, a publication devoted to telling extraordinary true stories and adapting them into film and television. He produced the 2023 Sundance hit movie Radical with Eugenio Derbez, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Mexican films in history. He executive produced the 2022 Sundance hit Breaking, starring John Boyega, as well as the Apple TV+ series Little America and The Big Cigar. In 2025, Josh co-wrote the young adult romance novel "The Uncertainty Principle" with his teenage son, Kal Kini-Davis.
