Joshua Claybourn is an attorney and author with a focus on history, law, and public policy, emphasizing Abraham Lincoln's youth in Indiana. Claybourn has edited 'Abraham Lincoln's Wilderness Years: Collected Works of J. Edward Murr' (2022) and co-edited, with William Bartelt, 'Abe’s Youth: Shaping the Future President' (2019), an annotated edition of Lincoln Inquiry papers. He often hosts 'Lincoln Log,' a podcast featuring talks with leading historians and officials about their stories, research, and insights. He is a featured historian in the six-part CNN documentary 'Lincoln: Divided We Stand.' Serving on the boards of the Abraham Lincoln Association and Abraham Lincoln Institute, Claybourn is also a member of The Lincoln Forum, American Historical Society, and Organization of American Historians. He is a frequent speaker on Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War. In addition to his work on Lincoln, Claybourn edited 'Our American Story: The Search for a Shared National Narrative' (2019), a collection of thought-provoking essays by prominent thinkers addressing the unifying American story. His writings on law and policy have appeared in USA Today, The Hill, The American Spectator, and World Magazine, and he has been a guest on CNN, MSNBC, and NHK. A graduate of Indiana University School of Law and the Kelley School of Business, Claybourn's legal practice includes government, intellectual property, utility regulation, and commercial transactions.
