John Selby - therapist, author, producer - grew up on Arizona and California cattle ranches, studied psychology at Princeton, U.C. Berkeley, and the Radix Institute. and screenwriting at the American Film Institute. He has worked as a therapist, screenwriter, guitar maker, teacher, soap-maker and ghostwriter, and has published over 30 books in 17 languages. Along with John's ongoing professional work in positive psychology he's also taken time to study shamanic practices, and researched his five suspense novels, during adventures in South Africa, western Mexico, Hawaii and highland Guatemala. H e also conducted NIH mind research and psychedelic experiments for the Bureau of Research in Neurology & Psychiatry at the New Jersey Neuro-psychiatric Institute. For years he has guided couples exploring the power of cannabis to boost intimacy, compassion and emotional healing. His new positive-psychology book 'Cannabis For Couples' and accompanying free' High Together' app have just been released. John has also recently sold his new novel, 'High Heart', which he considers his literary opus. His film agent is now shopping the property as a miniseries. He mostly just loves to write - but he's finally making an effort to market his books and let the world know what's he's created during the last 30 years. He lives happily with his wife Birgitta and their two sons in Santa Cruz, California, and enjoys playing music, traveling, cooking great meals and when the dust clears, meditating and exploring new realms of consciousness.
