John H Brown is the author of the “Augie Trilogy” comprised of three novels - Augie’s War, Augie’s World and Augie’s Wine. He is a Vietnam veteran who served a year as an enlisted man in the Americal Division. After a career in public relations, he wrote his debut novel, Augie’s War. About the book, James Casto, writing for the WV Book Team said: “Like Joseph Heller in “Catch 22,” Brown has given readers a novel that makes clear the insanity of war in all its grim and gritty horror. Brown’s novel, like Heller’s, includes a lineup of zany characters and a sequence of outlandish happenings sure to have readers chuckling, if not laughing out loud.” John Brown followed Augie’s War with with the second novel in the Trilogy, Augie’s World, about which the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote: “John Brown draws on his culinary expertise and life experience to shape an engaging, complex lead character…the plot is wild and involved, but clear and focused.” Kirkus Reviews said of Augie's World: "A profound tale of perseverance and family." Augie’s War and Augie’s World are also available as audiobooks. John Brown concluded the Trilogy series with Augie’s Wine which was published in December 2024. Homer Hickam, author of Rocket Boys/October Sky said of the book: "John H.
