Joanne Bolnick was raised on Long Island, New York, where she enjoyed the outdoors and learned to scuba dive. She graduated from CW Post College where she earned a degree in English, with an emphasis on creative writing. Joanne started her career as editor of global scuba guide books and went on to become a sports editor for a Long Island newspaper. Joanne is a certified NAUI Divemaster and enjoys diving the Caribbean and taking underwater photos and video. Her frequent Grand Cayman adventures motivated her to write Turning the Tides. Joanne currently lives in Utah and enjoys spending time with her ever-growing family, including her husband, Larry, two children, and five grandchildren.
