Jim Tilley earned a doctorate in Physics from Harvard University (1975) and worked for 25 years in insurance and finance before turning to writing poetry. He has published five full-length collections with Red Hen Press: "When Godot Arrived" (2026), "Ripples in the Fabric of the Universe" (2024), "Lessons from Summer Camp" (2016), "Cruising at Sixty to Seventy" (2014), and “In Confidence" (2011). Five of his poems have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes. Billy Collins, former U.S. Poet Laureate, has stated of Tilley’s work that “he keeps a steady hand on the poem and a steady gaze at the world.” Scott Mason, winner of 30 international haiku competitions, characterizes Jim’s poetry: “Perhaps it takes a mind in equal measure that of a mathematician and an artist to produce work of such perceptual and emotional bandwidth.” Jim resides with his wife, Deborah Schneider, in Bedford Corners, New York, and can be contacted through his author website.
