Jessica Mars is a writer based near Chicago, Illinois. She has always had a passion for teaching and working with learners of all ages. After earning several degrees in the field education and teaching for 25 years, Jessica decided to pursue her dream of becoming a published author, but does so as a hobby. Her time in the classroom, lecture hall, and home have inspired her books to reach children and their busy parents. After her debut novel, "Little Money, Big Fun: Lost Cost Activities for Kids at Home" was published in 2023, she continued writing with another activity book entitled "Indoor Camping for Kids: Let the Adventure Begin". With her passion for education, it made perfect sense to write what she knows. As a busy wife, teacher, and mother of three, she also knows the chaos of life and the stresses it brings, so her next book entitled, "Mindful Moments" was published featuring Micro-Meditations and a Mandala Journal. Mars's fourth book, "The Ultimate Guide to Creative Hosting with Food Bars" was written out of her love for entertaining and hosting family and friends. Her fifth book, "The Journey to Independence: Teaching Kids to Thrive" brought her back to her background in education. Teaching special education for over 25 years and working with older students at the collegiate level proved to her that independence can be achieved most successfully when nurtured from a young age. The coummunity around a child: parents, educators, coaches, religious leaders, etc. all need to work together to raise an independent child and would benefit from the strategies provided in this book. In addition to writing, Jessica continues teaching high school and college students. She enjoys cooking, traveling, staying fit, and gathering with family and friends.
