Jeremy D. Holden – Published Author & Adjunct Professor Jeremy is an award-winning creative professional and accomplished writer and thinker, with ties to both sides of the Atlantic. He received a degree in communications from Ravensbourne University London, and studied law at The University of the West of England, giving him a distinctive right and left brain approach to work and life. Jeremy relocated from Europe to the United States in 1995, having previously lived in London, Bath, Rome and Milan. In a career that spanned over thirty-years, Jeremy worked for some of the best-known advertising agencies in the world, including Publicis Worldwide, where he was the Chief Strategy Officer in New York City. Prior to that, he spent a decade as Partner at McKinney North America. Jeremy then co-owned and operated Clean Design with his wife & partner Natalie, which became the fastest-growing agency in North Carolina. During his career, he has won many of the industry’s top awards, including the prestigious ‘Gold Effie,’ the advertising industry’s Golden Globe. Jeremy has counseled some of the world’s most recognized names, including Citigroup, Proctor & Gamble, Audi of America, NASDAQ, Lenovo and many others. His experiences are integrated into, and integral to his Mal Thomas Mystery novels; Sea of Doubt (2016), Valley of Time (2017), and Halo of Power (2019). Jeremy’s first nonfiction book, Second That Emotion: How Decisions, Trends, and Movements Are Shaped (Prometheus Books, 2012), showcased movements in the political, cultural and commercial realms. As a result, he received coverage in Fast Company and Huff Post, and appeared on CNN and NPR. Second That Emotion was the basis for an undergraduate course in advertising, that he created and taught as an Adjunct Professor at UNC Hussman School of Journalism, Chapel Hill. Jeremy currently teaches about the role of media in society at Appalachian State University. A popular speaker and facilitator, Jeremy has run client workshops in tandem with fellow authors Malcolm Gladwell and Professor Dan Ariely. He is currently editing his fifth book, an epic historical fiction novel set in Rome in 1AD, entitled The Slave Emperor. Jeremy also has two overachieving adult children, Lily and Sam, as well as two extremely spoiled dogs, Wally and Daisy.
