Jeff Tiegs is a retired Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency expert with over 25 years of service in US Army Special Operations. From young ranger private to Delta Force Lieutenant Colonel, he has braved—and commanded—combat operations around the globe, including in Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Through decades of triumphs and traumas, he leaned on ancient stories from the Bible to help him find meaning, inspiration, and the will to keep fighting—no matter the odds. What kept him going—what guides him still—was stories. Of David, the slingshot sniper who downed a giant. Of a pregnant virgin bride, a rogue prophet, a betrayed liberator. To Tiegs, these ancient tales echo within every human story. He’s followed them through holy lands and combat zones, where he picked up a few stories of his own. The stories Jeff shares are told through the lens of a trained and tested warrior, weaving personal experiences and other military exploits among the threads, inviting readers to take their own pilgrimage through the front lines of faith. He has a Master’s Degree from the Naval War College in Newport, RI and has earned numerous military decorations including the Ranger and Special Forces Tabs, Special Forces Combat Diver Badge and the Military Freefall Badge. He has received numerous awards, including five bronze stars for distinguished service during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and a silver star awarded for valor during combat in Iraq. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Julianne Louise Safir, since they were nineteen years old. They have two sons, Aaron and Jonah, both adventurers and warriors in their own right. As the founder and president of the non- profit Skull Games, he leads a team of dedicated professionals to shed light in the darkness, wherever it may try to hide. He has repurposed his experiences by becoming a counter sex trafficking expert, continuing to use his hard-earned skills to free the oppressed around the globe. He envisions a world where all individuals, especially women, children, and vulnerable populations, are protected from sexual exploitation. Skull Games works on a global scale to deliver justice and strike fear into traffickers and sex predators. Jeff believes every person has a heroic journey awaiting them. He hopes to inspire some to set off on their own adventure to explore life, love, loss, faith, failure, passion, purpose, and ultimately find peace.
