Jeff Evarts comes from a family of entrepreneurs. He, his father, mother, and extended family own and run a variety of small businesses. On the subject (and politics) of owning your own business, his passion is lifelong. Jeff graduated from college with a degree in computer science, and worked as a software engineer for a variety of companies including Amazon.com and Google. In late 2010, while talking to a longtime friend, Jeff found himself advising a career change: telling them to "Try something totally new!" The advice sounded sufficiently good that he took it himself. As a first-time author, he wrote a book on the subject of alternative careers available to anyone. He now divides his time between small business management, writing, and other pursuits in Southern California.
