Jeff Barker is an author and screenwriter. He hosts the weekly podcast, The Screenplay Lab. Jeff is the GRAND PRIZE Winner of FADE IN's 2025 Horror Screenwriting Competition, Winner of Night Fright LA Film Festival, and Black List recommended. His screenplays have been honored at numerous other film festivals and writing contests, including the Austin Film Festival, Stage 32, FILMMATIC, The Red List, Los Angeles International, New York Horror Nights, ScreenCraft, Vail, Big Apple, Los Angeles Film & Script Festival, and Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Jeff has been published in over a dozen literary journals and anthologies. His short stories have been performed live in Ashton Hayes Theatre Club in Cheshire, UK; and the KGB Bar in New York. Previous to his full-time writing career, Jeff spent many years working as a provider in the field of psychiatry. Before that, he had a nine-year career as an award-winning television news anchor and reporter. He has been featured on NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, The Weather Channel, and CNBC.
