I am a licensed psychotherapist in California specializing in recovery from narcissistic abuse. This subject is important. Too often the survivors of such abuse suffer in silence. They are left with having to believe they are defective and/or undeserving. I believe it is essential to make this form abuse more widely understood so that it can be identified and prevented. Survivors of this form of abuse can also find a better quality of life. These are the two purposes of my books, papers, online courses and YouTube videos. In my personal and clinical experience I have found that recovery from narcissistic abuse involves three components. First, the survivor needs to make sense of what happened to know it was not their fault. Second, the survivor needs to distance themselves from narcissistic abusers in their lives today. Third, they need to live in defiance of the narcissist's rules. Otherwise known as the 3 Pillars of Recovery.
