Janice Maynard knew she loved books and writing by the time she was eight years old. But it took multiple rejections and many years of trying before she sold her first three novels. After teaching kindergarten and second grade for a number of years, Janice turned to writing full-time in the fall of 2002. Since then she has written and sold over seventy books and novellas. Her publishers include Lake Union, Harlequin, Kensington, and Penguin/NAL. With the advent of empty nest, Janice can now indulge her preference for late nights and leisurely mornings. She and her husband love to travel. Scotland (because of family connections) is her favorite. But Italy runs a close second. Funny, sexy books are her guilty pleasure. And jewelry. Restaurants. Movie theaters. Broadway shows. Chanel No.5. Fountain pens. Baking. Family dinners. Christmas. Snow. Janice lives in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with her husband, Charles. They love hiking, traveling, and spending time with family. Charles is the almost-perfect-in-every-way high school sweetheart she married at nineteen. She believes in romance and the beauty of day-to-day life in the trenches.
